How does face detection work?
A lightweight browser AI model detects your face, adds generous headroom above the crown, and places the face to occupy ~70% of the frame height — matching ICAO passport standards. Everything runs on your device.
Why does the background colour appear?
We fill the entire canvas with your chosen background colour first. The photo is then placed on top — if the photo doesn't fill the whole frame (e.g. portrait photo on a square format), the background shows on the sides. For best results your background colour should match the original photo background.
What size is an Indian passport photo?
Indian passport photos must be 35×45mm (413×531px at 300 DPI). The face must be centered and occupy 70–80% of the frame against a white or off-white background.
